TWENTY-SEVEN US STATES STILL PRACTICE THE DEATH PENALTY.
And more than 2,000 people currently sit on federal and state death row in the US. Our film is a tool to activate, organize, teach, build community, and fundraise among a broad community of donors, abolitionists, people directly impacted by the death penalty and mass incarceration, students, and other stakeholders working to end the death penalty. By sharing the innovative strategies that moved Illinois to first put a moratorium on executions, then grant a blanket commutation of all death sentences, and finally abolish the death penalty—and the hard-earned lessons learned along the way—our documentary offers a roadmap and teaching and advocacy tool for death penalty abolitionists in diverse political phases and climates.
Your support allows us to bring this film to workshops, conferences, class sessions, public dialogues, and other educational, activation, and organizing events tailored to specific political, social, and cultural contexts in partnership with local, state, and national stakeholders working to end the death penalty.
Thank you for your support.
